Kamakhya

Kamakhya Temple, one of the most revered Shakti peeth of all the 51 Shakti peetha’s. Kamakhya Temple is also known as kamrup kamakhya temple. This temple is situated on the Neelanchal mountain in Guwahati city of Assam. From Airport, its hardly 20 kms and once you reach the base of mountain, its a drive of around 3 kms. Along with the main temple of Maa Kamakhya, we also find the temples dedicated to the 10 Mahavidya in the vicinity.

Kotilinga Mahadev Mandir – On the way to Bhuvaneshwari temple when you climb the stairs, midway u turn left and go straight downwards following the stairs. A very ancient temple of lord Shiva known as Kotilinga Mahadev Mandir is another place to visit if you are planning to visit Kamakhya.
